How I was introduced to CrossFit:
I started Crossfit around 4 years ago when we were living in Denver. A climbing/adventuring/guiding buddy of mine was opening a hybrid Crossfit and climbing gym. He convinced me to come give it a go to help me cross-train for climbing and for a big mountain ultra-run I was putting together. I loved the community vibe and the results from the training, and eventually I also got hooked on Crossfit itself.
If I never had to do this one exercise ever again, I would be awesome:
Thrusters. Always thrusters.
If I had to makeup my own WOD, it would be:
Overhead squats, running, and KB swings…so like, Nancy, but with a longer run and swings thrown in there!
Tell us a little about yourself (family, job, hobbies, etc) :
My wife is hands down the coolest and best person I know! She and I met in Denver 12 years ago, and we’ve been married 9. We spent most of our marriage in Denver, as well a year abroad living in a van and out of backpacks around the world. We got to Albuquerque in June of 2019 and the change has been really awesome. We have two kids, a 4 year old son and a 2 year old daughter, and they are amazing and hilarious and crazy and ridiculous and emotional basket-cases. We moved here to start a coffee roasting business in Corrales, and we are loving it!
My proudest accomplishment is (doesn’t have to be CF related):
Starting our business, and the years of planning, saving, and dreaming to make it happen!
My favorite cheat/indulgence- meal/food is:
Huge boards of cheese, meat, bread and wine. Or just an enormous pizza.
What is your favorite music to workout to?:
Rap/hip-hop
What I love about Bear Canyon Crossfit:
Such an amazing spot…Great coaches and community, lots of inspiration from all the people stronger than me, amazing facility, and awesome equipment!
