How I was introduced to CrossFit: 
My wife saw how much I disliked going to the regular gym and got me a groupon for a crosfit gym because she thought I’d really like it.  She was right (as always)!

If I never had to do this one exercise ever again, I would be stoked:
Burpees or any combination thereof…

If I had to makeup my own WOD, it would be:
Wall balls, rowing, deadlifts

Tell us a little about yourself (family, job, hobbies, etc) :

I moved back to NM in 2006 to work for my brother’s software company after living on the East Coast while in the Coast Guard for 10 years. I’ve got an awesome wife and a 7 year old son and 3 year old daughter.  I love playing golf when I get the chance and I used to coach high school basketball. I’m currently starting the portion of parenthood where you are constantly shuttling kids to soccer.

My proudest accomplishment is (doesn’t have to be CF related):
Probably getting into the Coast Guard Academy.  As a kid from New Mexico, I had no idea what the Coast Guard was or did, but it was a chance for a free education, play basketball in college, and a guaranteed job.  It was really hard, but extremely rewarding.

What I love about Bear Canyon Crossfit:
The coaching.  I’ve improved so much since I started coming to Bear Canyon and it is all because of the coaching.  Every class I’ve ever been in here, the coach will notice something I could be doing more efficiently or my correcting my form, or helping me with a movement that I struggle in.  You can approach them for extra help and they are always willing to take time out to assist you.  The coaches are the best and the member are all so supportive!
