Carly was born and raised in Fort Collins, Colorado. She attended the University of Colorado- Boulder, where she was a student-athlete as a thrower for the track and field team. She qualified for Nationals in shot put in 2006. She now has lived in Albuquerque for over six years. Carly loves the Broncos, rap music, high heels, Monster Zeros and wine. Carly has been doing CrossFit since 2013. She started attending free weekend classes at Duke City CrossFit, where she fell in love with metcons, CrossFit competitions and the overall atmosphere and community. According to Carly, Crossfit has genuinely changed her life. She started coaching because there is something very special about the community and atmosphere that she is every proud to be a part of and wanted to share with others.
What Carly has learned about CrossFit
CrossFit has taught Carly many things including; to respect others, humility, how to dig deep and that a short 5-minute workout can make you drop to the ground when it’s over. Additionally, it has given Carly confidence and fulfillment.
What Carly wants people to know about CrossFit
Anyone can do CrossFit! It truly is meant for all walks of life and people are able to scale any workout to fit a persons’ needs/levels. It can take people out of their comfort zone in a positive way and you do not need to work out for a solid hour to see results. More than anything, the CrossFit community is so supportive, compassionate and enthusiastic. CrossFit is empowering
